Timothy Cole

Timothy Cole has served more than 30 years as chief content officer of Belvoir Media Group, publisher of University Health News. In addition to oversight duties on University Health News, Tim directs the editorial output of Harvard Health Publishing's Harvard Health Letter, Harvard Heart Letter, Harvard Men’s Health Watch, and Harvard Women’s Health Watch.

Cole also oversees more than 60 special health reports from Harvard Health Publishing, including the Harvard Annual Guide to Prostate Diseases and Harvard special health reports on Better Balance and Core Exercises.

Cole is also the editorial director of Cleveland Clinic Heart Advisor, Cleveland Clinic Men’s Health Advisor, and Cleveland Clinic Arthritis Advisor; also Duke Medicine Health News, Massachusetts General Hospital’s Mind, Mood and Memory, UCLA Medical Center’s Healthy Years, Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy Health and Nutrition Letter, Weill Cornell Medical College’s Women’s Health Advisor, and Weill Cornell Medical College’s Women’s Nutrition Connection.

In addition, Cole oversees production of numerous additional special health annuals including Heart Failure (Cleveland Clinic), Sleep Disorders (Weill Cornell Medical College), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and other Lung Disorders (Duke Medicine), The Heart-Brain Diet (Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy), and Alzheimer’s Disease (Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai).

In previous reporting assignments Tim wrote about climate change research at The South Pole, the Russian space program, America's nuclear navy and first-person accounts of flying aboard a variety of American military aircraft, from the B1-B Lancer to the F-18 Hornet. He is an instrument-rated private pilot and holds a 50-ton Captain’s License issued by the U.S. Coast Guard. He lives in Greenwich, Connecticut with his wife, Sarah Smedley.
