I have been on clonazepam/Klonapin for many years, 6 mg at night. It is physically addictive and I need off. I have been aware for some years that my dopamine was low. If anyone has been on this drug and gotten off, please share. My efforts have failed. I have tried to got to Mirapex but was not successful, but feel the dr. didn’t want me off the clonazepam and pushed the change to one week. Pharmacist says that was a bad idea and what I’m asking is difficult but possible with withdrawl with each decrease of the clonazepam. Anyone who can share who has overcome the physical addiction to clonazepam would be greatly appreciated.

ECT. I honestly don’t think my doctor was reading the signs because of my gender and age. A few years ago I had my shoulder lock up on me and I was sent to a P.T since x-rays didn’t show any physical damage. My shaking was getting worse and I began falling. Only when my speech became so bad that it brought concern to my dentist was Parkinson’s even considered. He phoned my doctor with his concerns about my shaking and balance problems. By this time I was forgoing shots in the back of my neck for back and neck pain to which once again I was sent to a P.T (although x-rays showed no damage) I was told I had a few spurs which were most likely causing the pain. Here I was feeling like my whole body was falling apart and doctor could not find anything wrong, maybe in was all in my head? My doctor even seemed annoyed with me and things just kept progressing and I just kept it to myself, why bother going through testing and them finding nothing? Well, it was after my second P.T called my doctor about the weakness in my legs and arms, by this time I have developed a gait in my walk and I fell more frequently. Only then did my doctor send me to a specialist and it was found that I had Parkinson’s, and that I have had it for awhile. I think because I was a woman that my signs and symptoms weren’t taken seriously and therefor left untreated for so long,I was taking pramipexole dihydrochloride three times daily, I Was on carbidopa levodopa but only lasted 90 minutes then wore off.I found that none of the current medications worked effective for me.I got tired of using those medication so I decided to apply natural herbs formula that was prescribed to me by my second P.T, i purchase the herbal formula from totalcureherbsfoundation. com, There has been huge progression ever since I start the treatment plan which will last for 15 weeks usage.all the symptoms and sign has begin to disappear .

My daughter died, my son who has down syndrome has a terminal illness. I was turned on to it by my brother and almost immediately became addicted. I was in a bad way that day and it was like a magic pill. I only did it once to twice a week for 4 years but it was affecting my brain chemicals afterwards. I would exercise and tan and have sex and try other ways to get out of the funk. After my car crash andmy son was hospitalized 6 times in a 6 month period, i made the stupid decision to take daily. I was going to pain management. It helped so much at first with depression, anxiety, energy and so much more! I am now of of that monster but take buprenorphine for pain and addiction. I also have anorexia but still about 20 lbs overweight. I have always been very shy and very self critical and always drank and did cocaine ct in social situations and avoid everyone but my family. I also lost 2 brothers, one who was my one and only friend besides my hubby and kids. I have been through so much and always considered my self having high willpower. I had oxy in my house for 4 years before I summoned to daily use. Iam sure my dopamine levels and serotin have been majorly lowered from the drug use! I am petrified of antidepressant because of fear of weigh gain! I have been taking ashwagandha, 5htp and st johns wort. I havnt noticed much but maybe slight improvement. I am going to try adding l tyrosine, maybe gaba but hear d it dosnt cross blood brain barrier, also also adding l tyrosine. I have a script for wellburtin but dont want to quit smoking! I was on it once but i was also taking oxy 2x a week so thats probably why i saw no benefits! Why is it that the only drug for dopamine is wellbutrin and side effect is smoking makes you sick! If this natural approach dosnt help I will try the wellbutrin but so scared to try ssri! I am a freak baou dieting and eat maybe 600 to 800 calories a day! I weigh 150 so I am still a chubetter! I am trying to slowly up ,my calories, and oh yeah I am a caffenine coffee freak! I mostly do that to speed my metabolism and between that and the nicotine I rarely want to eat. I think my body holds on to food when I do eat so maybe food will be beneficail to my mind as well as keeping me from getting fat. Anyone with any recommendations I will be so thankful. I also live in fear of my son, he is always sick and can go from bing oaky one day and sick the next. I purree his food, give him a ton of brething traetments daily and, insulin shots as well ,as all his needs he is very severe in every way and he also aspirates and is always on the verge and I am stressed as hell over all this in my life! Thanks for any advise

Last time I checked, there was little evidence supporting theories of causation like this.

I was born with the condition where my dopamine is low and serotonin is high. While I do drink coffee now, I didn’t for the first 42 years of my life. My magnesium is almost high. I have suffered with life long depression and a pharmacogenetic test found that I have a mutation that causes low dopamine. Will this list still be helpful for me.

It is not possible to test dopamine or other neurotransmitters in the brain. Chemical imbalance theory is just that. In fact, some countries are insisting pharma take down these types of comments on their websites that, for eg..their antidepressant corrects chemical imbalance. Never and not able to be proven. However, if you deplete in the body then neurotransmitters do seem to impact mood. It can be a very confusing area to explore.
Current theories though are suggesting inflammation. Seems that many treatments at some level are addressing inflammation.
Make sure you take a broad approach with exercise, good diet and good quality fish oil or better yet oily fish. There is good research supporting omega 3, and exercise for depression and inflammation.

You most probably are having dopamine deficiency. I had exactly same symptoms as you, except that I had oversleeping problem, and also had high desire for masturbation.
Well, after fitting into society and acting in jobs that others could have endorsed me about my performance, responsibility and intelligence, I felt better.
I also had something called inferiority complex, and that was due to my parents taking hard on me.
My problem is partially fixed and I’m getting better and better everyday, and my overthinking is lowered also. I do drink Harmala teas, and plan to visit a very good psychiatrist which also does psychoanalysis/psychotherapy besides the medication.
So stop detaching from the real world, and go outside. Try to enjoy nature. Go to a park and see children play. Go to the highest point of your city at night and enjoy the lights. Read pleasant story books. Listen to happy music. Try to analyze human behaviors and enjoy your ability to do so, look at them like funny livings, not as a highly intelligent kind which is here to show a perfect state of evolution. Return to childhood and see adults as children which are playing more complex games as they grow up.
Don’t search for too much meaning in the life, we are just a complex neural network with hell plenty of electrical impulses. We are not superiors. So relax and live in the moment.

I could find nothing on reducing dopamine. My daughter’s dopamine is off the charts and progesterone is almost non-existent. Poor girl.

I have had the best results while eating 20 bananas a day (I know it sounds a bit crazy but it was 10 in a smoothie in the am and 10 bananas at lunch). This helped me quit coffee because I didn’t feel the need for it I had energy and mental alertness I was running to drink more water because of the sweet taste. I also used spotty bananas to avoid constipation. I had great bowel movements actually. For dinner I baked 5 medium potatoes and ate them with some lettuce leafs and green onion for flavor. I basically had my energy, digestion and happiness back . I was performing better than ever at work and my personal life improved as I had more energy and did not feel bloated so therefore more love making. I hope you guys give this a try I did it for 2 weeks and then I diminished to 6 bananas in the am and different vegan dishes throughout the day. But I always start my mornings with smoothies!
